This is a little Afterburn Demo. It was my second week assignment for McKay's VFX for Film Class.
http://workshops.cgsociety.org/courses/000034/
Includes several scripts.
Such as "Particle Motion Transfer to Scene Objects" (Thank you Bobo and Michelle for teaching that great scripting class http://workshops.cgsociety.org/courses/000030/.)
Also used a modified "Scripting Custom Chunks" (Thanks again Bobo for the great tutorials and your special attention durring class. http://www.scriptspot.com/bobo/ )
I also used a heavily modified version of my Rifter script. Which you can check out http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=206&t=510790&highlight=Rifter
There's a couple of good scripts on the page that I wrote as well.
This was all rendered out in a single pass using the scanline renderer to an AVI. AVI's were stictched together with Premeire Pro. AfterEffects was used for the camera shake. Gama was boosted .5 using Combustion to adjust for loss during flash conversion. Fusion was used for some minor color correction. Then the final composite was imported to Macromedia Flash 8 to convert it to FLA. There is also some cheapo hacked out roto I did with a keyframed clip effect in Premeire Pro to tie in the miissile trail to the explosion. The missile trail was layered over using an alpha key and was the only element rendered seperately and had to be tied into the explosion quickly.
Scene setup modeling, scripting textures, and keyframing took about 8 hours. Then I tweaked Afterburn for about another 4 including my single frame test renders. Compositing and converting to flash took maybe another 3. This is done 100% with the Afterburn Octane shader because I was under a big time crunch and only have the one workstation to do my renders on, plus classwork, plus Allan's class.
I'm done with all that now and would love if you checked out my resume and sent an offer.
